Lord’s Supper Sermons

I Am The Bread Of Life!" - John 6:35,51
When Jesus performed the miracle of the loaves and fishes, declaring
that He was the bread sent down from heaven, those who had heard Jesus
and had eaten the food He miraculously provided were profoundly impressed.
It is significant that this miracle occurred during the Passover season.
It was not Moses who had given their forefathers manna in the wilderness,
but it was God Himself, Jesus had pointed out:
"... My Father giveth you the true bread from heaven." (John 6: 32; cf. Nehemiah 9:15)

Gathered Around The Table - John 13:21-30
Gathered around the table with the Saviour were twelve men.
They were truly individuals.
Each had his particular need.
Each had his personal character, and each had his own thoughts.
Gathered around this table today are all of us.
Each of us has his or her particular need.
Each of us has his or her own personal character.
Each of us has his or her own thoughts.

Insights Into Lord's Supper- 1 Corinthians 11:23-30
It is the Lord's Supper because He instituted it.
Jesus, then, went on to say, "Do this in remembrance of me."
Thus, the meal is called the Lord's Supper because it is a memorial to Him.
People become like the thoughts they hold, and like the memories they cherish.
It is the truth that "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." (Proverbs 23: 7)
What do you think about during the Lord's Supper?
If we think of Jesus Christ our faith is increased, our hope is ignited,
and our strength is renewed.

Will You Follow? - John 13:1-17
We can talk it, we can preach it, we can become educated about it,
we can even sing it, but until we demonstrate servanthood
through our own example, we will have no impact on the world.
Nor will have no impact on our families or our friends.
When we are content to let others serve us and take no steps
to serve others, we have not learned from the example of Christ.

Why The Repetition? - Matt. 26:26-30
Today, we will observe the Lord's Supper, which we, as Christians,
have been doing the same way for 2000 years.
Most of us know the words by heart -- "this is my body, this is my blood"
-- we all know the procedure.
Why do we do the same thing over and over?
Let us look back to the very first time this supper ever happened
for an answer to this question.
